Huneke Family Trip!

It's only my second post and I'm straying from the EC focus, BECAUSE I have to show you a little glimpse my super fabulous family trip to Myrtle Beach over Memorial Day!

I'm a very lucky girl with a wonderful family and for the past six years (six Wayne?) I've been able to spend time with some pretty awesome people in some pretty awesome places!

Wayne (Uncle), Marilyn (Marley, not Mar-lon-Aunt), Thomas (Cousin), Melissa (Tom's wife), Sara (Ace/Cousin), Nathan and Mia (Thomas and Melissa's little angels) make up the crew. On the first day, Wayne drove me from the airport to the fabulous hotel!

When I walked in, kids were napping and adults were relaxing. The place was gorgeous! There were about 62 pools (slight exaggeration) that we could admire from our 14th floor balcony. When the kids woke up, it was lunch time and little Mia was ready to eat. You can see above Melissa, Mia and Marilyn. After Mia was happy and full, we all got to go out to eat and get full and happy!

Next up on the agenda - the beach! Little Mia and Nathan really enjoyed the sun and sand. I did as well, except for the high school kids who soaked the book I was reading in the pool!

After the pool/beach fun, we spent a fun night watching the intense fighting and (exceptional acting by the princess) of the Mideval Times crew. Sara and I were both chosen by the red knight as his favorite. Yup.

The trip was another success and fun as ever. We experience something we haven't in the six years together; getting stuck in an elevator with no air and 15 people. But in the end, everyone had a good time. Love you family!!!! Thanks for the great trip!

Fishin' in the Dark

So, I started this blog because I thought I could show all my friends and family what living in Eau Claire is like. I'm not sure if I'll stay on the EC topic the whole time, but I'll start out that way. Thanks for following along with me! On to my first post!

Living by myself in EC has been interesting, fun, lonely at times, and most of all, a time of independence. I like it, but I LOVE it when I have visitors!

So, Brian drove down to my place and we went fishing! He bought us cheap fishing poles and we fought our way through weeds and steep, rocky slope to the river (we had no idea what we were doing, and that was the fun part:).Then we had to put the night crawlers on the hooks. Yuck. My least favorite part (I'm hiding my disgust with the smile).
So after I snagged my line, multiple times, lost a few hooks and weights, Brian finally got a chance to fish. On one of his first casts, he got a bite, and our first fish! Then I caught mine! In the end, one of the best nights ever! Fishin' in the dark!
